"Hope For List"
OK, let's just endulge ourselves once again and put to paper all the various "rumored" bikes we would like to see Triumph build for us. As Diego put it, this is more like a "hoped for" list:
1) 1050 Daytona
2) 800 Daytona (675 engine)
3) 1500cc Cruiser
4) 675 Tiger Cub
5) 675 Super Moto
6) Return of the 3TA Scooter (using Bonneville engine)
Anything else?

A bike with speed triple performance and classically styled fuel tank/fenders. I'm not asking for a retro. I'm asking for a MODERN bike with classic tins. :
I'll just keep wasting my money trying to turn my Tbird into one until then.

Hope for List
Just please NO Harley or cruiser type clones. These are way overdone. Triumph should represent speed, state-of-the-art quality and design, etc.

I have it from a reliable source that the "new" model is indeed a Rocket III bagger. The new design for '09 will be an 1100cc liquid cooled vertical twin based on the 865 engine in a beefy Bonneville type chassis.

I agree, that would be fantastic!

I agree with Bad Mouth-either in 675 or 1050 or both.

I can't decide if a 675 motard or a 675 Tiger would be better. A 450 or 500 twin would be great, too, especially for a motard. Imagine a 65 or 70 hp 500 in a bike weighing a bit over 300 pounds full wet, with dirt bike ergos and lots of steering lock. It would be nuts and way too much fun.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

It would probably have a lot of us old geezers out in the middle of nowhere, recapturing our youth and breaking bones right and left.
But it'd be worth it.

Hey, while we're wishing upon a star, let's get a true Sport-Touring bike back in the line-up. Since they retired the Trophy, there's not been a true Sport-Touring bike available in the Triumph line-up. Is the market for this genre dead? Apparently not, as Yamaha keeps tweeking their FJR1300, Kawasaki just released the Concours14, Moto Guzzi introduced the Norge, Honda is hanging in there with the ST1300, BMW released the K1200GT. Except for the FJR & the Honda ST, all of the bikes listed above were introduced after Triumph decided the market was dead and pulled the Trophy from the line-up. (And for all of you who want to chime in with "Triumph offers the Sprint ST!", take a long trip -- over 1200 miles -- with your significant other and then let me know if the Sprint ST is a true Sport-Touring bike. I class the Sprint ST as a Sport bike with bags, much like the Honda Superhawk would be with bags, or a CBR with bags. YMMV)
