It All Depends
My wife and I finally received our two TBAs a month ago after 5 weeks of hassle from Triumph, not our dealer.
I decided to check out the other Triumph Dealer in the area (CalMoto of Mountain View, CA) again on service pricing. When I asked the service rep what their shop rate was she said, “what do you mean shop rate.” I said, “What do you charge for an hourly rate.”
You have to realize that the motorcycle shop also sells BMWs and even though the staff is friendly when it comes to money they are as vague as you can be, this why I did not buy my two Americas from them.
The service rep and I chatted for several more minutes about service prices and accessory rates, but I still received the same answer.
Here is the kicker, the rate still undisclosed is said to be determined on what service or parts you are installing with an undisclosed sliding rate scale. If you have asked for prices you are in the wrong place. It is a BMW dealership that happens to sale Triumphs, which accounts for the snooty attitude.
My dealer says that they have heard of this before.
