Triumph Magazine
Get serious.........who are you trying to impress and why would you bother. I am sure the production costs on that rag were astronomical and what exactly was the purpose. A Maserati ad????And my favorite....the Bonneville story......the photos made the Bonnie look like atleast an 1800cc bike and of course topped off with a vertically challanged guy who could not have been taller than 4'11". Want'a make a small bike look big....put a small rider on it.
This magazine will do absolutely nothing to pull Triumph riders together or sell more bikes.. Great photography but doesnt look like a motorcycle magazine.....its a stuff shirt BMW....please pass the muffins Muffy waste.

I disagree. I too was skeptical, but I think it looks exactly like they wanted it to. The production values are high and as for the Maserati ad - that is Maserati's call and might turn out to be money well spent. In any case, it is money coming in that helps defray the cost.
Triumphs tend to cost more than equivalent Japanese models (oh, you noticed?) and so establishing, or in this case maintaining, a high end niche is appropriate.
I'd like more content, too, the content that was there was interesting.
Marketing is a tricky and not obvious business, and I do not claim to understand it at all, but in this case I think they are probably meeting their objectives for a magazine that is meant to be a part of the marketing effort and not meant to compete with "real" magazines.
I liked it, and since I had already pre-formed a scornful view, it has taken something to do that.

I was really looking forward to the new magazine. What a let down. So artsy fartsy. These are motorcycles, not luxury cars. The models aren't even wearing Triumph clothes for the most part. My wife is a graphic designer and she too thought it was too pretentious. No way is this sort of attitude going to help bring in customers. I think ( and so does my dealer), Triumph should come back to earth and look at who they're trying to appeal to. We all bought Triumphs, not BMW's! ( no offense ) And by the way, I for one want to see motorcycles in my motorcycle magazines, not pretty boy models pretending to be bikers. Note to Triumph.... lose the models, show us the MOTORCYCLES! Pffffhhhew, I feel better now

I think all manufacturers are guilty of "going overboard" at some point.
Right now the VTX1300 is personified by a guy with "Wings". The online video has a guitar-track sound, shows how ugly the bike is, and how terrible it would be to ride it.
I didn't see the Maserati ad, but there's no way it could have been worse

air mail
I missed out on getting mine through the general mail-out and, after having complained via email, they sent me one "air mail" direct from the UK!!! Cost em about 6 quid.
I do think it's a little glitzy and brochure looking but pretty good. I'd like to see more stories and photos submitted from riders around the world and maybe bits of technical stuff.. you know, grease under the fingernails stories.
(maybe the female on the triple could have worn much less!!!)

I think the magazine is very well presented and a slick piece of Triumph propaganda. Why not build on the exclusivity of Triumph ownership? It works VERY well for HD and Ducati. When you have great bikes and well made accessories, why not portray it at top end? Otherwise, it just becomes another cheap rag. I agree with Hans that it should have more tech stuff and bikes, however. Just look at it as a quarterly (?) broucher that you don't have to get if you don't want it.
