Taking delivery in England

Does Triumph have a program in which I can purchase a new Triumph here in the US but take delivery in the UK? I thought at one time BMW motorcycles had a similar program. Any info would be appreciated.

Have you talked to Triumph direct?

Porsche & BMW still allow you pick cars up at the factories.

I assume you are planning to ride over there for a while before shipping it back?

Oh, and don't forget, it'll be Right Hand Drive if its in the UK

Triumph used to have a page on their Web site answering that question, though I can't seem to find it now, and the answer wasn't encouraging.

It essentially boiled down to the fact that if it is delivered in England, it has to comply with English regulations for safety features, which are not entirely the same as in the US. They can't certify it to meet both sets of regs, so you would have a certain amount of fun bringing it into compliance when you import it here, then proving to Customs, DOT, and/or EPA that you have done so.

It can be done, in other words, but is probably more trouble than it's worth. Plus, Triumph's base retail prices are higher over there on most models, even before VAT is figured in. It's a pretty expensive proposition, all in all.

Well it would have been a cool vacation. I should have known something like that would be the case. Thank you for the information none the less.
