Beware: LEXINGTON MOTORSPORTS TRIUMPH

I purchased a 2014 Bonneville, Mainly due to the "Spring Unchained" email/promotion from Triumph. The offer was for $1k of Triumph Vouchers with purchase of a leftover '15 or older in January.

I purchased the Bonneville in January (a whole other fiasco and longer story, basically the worst ever buying experience for any bike or even car) and when I emailed Triumph to inquire as to when I would be receiving my vouchers I was told they had already been cashed by the dealer (though I didn't receive anything or any accessories.) I verified 3 separate times specifically that I would be receiving the vouchers (direct from Triumph not the dealer) and I was told that I couldn't use them at time of purchase. I had the opportunity to buy from a closer dealer but the the price was a little better, had I known I would have purchased from the other dealer and gotten my vouchers.

Triumph wont do anything yet as they need the dealer paperwork and I don't have a copy.

So far I have been unable to receive a response from the dealer.

Not to mention I have yet to receive a copy of any paperwork (and still have no proof of ownership, but my payment is due next week)
and the bike was delivered with scratches on the tank and an expired temp tag registered to someone else on it.

I was looking at them to purchase 2 other bikes but now I don't care if they are cheaper I wouldn't go near the place.

UPDATES:

My Credit Union hasn't received anything from the dealer either, no title or anything no paperwork or any communication.

More info....
Running a vin check on my bike shows it was registerded in KY with 5 miles on it in 2014 when I bought it with 1 mile on it in 2016...

That explains the scratches on the tank and excess wear inconsistent with a new bike.

i agree. have your lawyer call the dealership directly. This is something that should have been credited on the spot. when I purchased my new, left over 14' t-bird I was also offered a voucher. The amount at that particular time was for $2500 to be used for anything I wanted (accessories, clothing, etc) This "credit" was not applied to the purchase price. I negotiated that separately and got the deal I wanted. The $2500 voucher was used towards aftermarket exhaust pipes, chrome upgrades, seat upgrade, helmet, jacket, etc. I simply looked over their catalog as they were prepping my bike and selected the items I wanted. Used up the entire $2500. There was no voucher, check, letter, etc mailed to me from the manufacturer or the dealership. It was all handled on site at time of purchase. Not sure why you would have experienced anything differently. Unless there is some misunderstanding, and they somehow "applied" that credit towards the purchase price of the bike, I would have your lawyer call them.

I specifically asked them point blank if the price included the voucher, I was told no that the vouchers would be sent by Triumph after the warranty was registered.

My paperwork I signed said Sales price X..... No mention of vouchers, etc.

Of course I don't have a copy of any paperwork.

The purchase was done online and they FedExed the paperwork to me to sign.

Then once I drove 170 miles to pick the bike up (after telling them I was coming and calling and confirming that they wouldn't be closing due to weather) they closed 40 minutes before I got there.

After calling the salesman they agreed to deliver the bike. Which they did on 1/29. With someone else's expired temp tag on my brand new bike..

Have paperwork proof that the vouchers were not listed on the deal so Triumph is refunding those
Have Vin check paperwork showing title history
have pics of odometer when I received it
Have email from Triumph showing the vouchers used by dealer.

My wife is the one with the patience.... I may have a stroke...

Review posted on their facebook page (which they "liked")
Complaint made to Triumph (Triumph has been great on this and promised me my vouchers by end of day today)

I've got a dealership like that here in the Seattle area. Though it's been the inadequacies of their service department rather than their sales.

Perhaps a dealer demo bike? Do they need to register them under a special status as a demo?

Even brand new cars show some few miles on the odo...due to dealer moving it around the lot, on/off loading of the shipping truck , even factor testing etc.

one thing to keep in mind. A vehicle is not considered used until it has been registered. New vehicles should not have a registration history. Car fax should not have a record of that bike if it's new and never been sold. A short term registration may be the result of someone purchasing it, and then immediately returning it to the dealer. The odometer on the registration history is just a number entered by the registrar, and is not confirmed by anything or anyone so don't worry too much about mileage.

This may be a case where the original buyer registered and then changed his/her mind, couldn't afford the payments, or just decided to get something else, whatever)

I can't speak for the dealer but to me, it sounds like the dealer tried to resell it as "new" when in fact it was used because it wasn't really used by the original buyer. The mileage on the other hand, even if it was 5,10, or 15, is too low to have any wear and tear affect, but the purchase price should have reflected a used bike price, and not new. You can probably fight that case to get a price reduction, if you're financing, or a rebate/cash voucher for the difference.

Triumph refunded the Vouchers to me as the paperwork verified that the dealer getting the vouchers was not part of the deal.

Dealer sent me a 60 day tag that was actually in my name this time.

STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED TITLE (Myself or Credit Union) TODAY WILL BE A MONTH.

When I dealt with Lexington Motorsports they were called "Transport." Fortunately they p*ssed me off before they had an opportunity to screw me over. Herewith is the description of my encounter that I wrote 11 years ago:

"A couple of weeks ago I was in Lexington for a conference. On the way back home I decided to stop by Transport see if they had any interesting used bikes. I was driving a BMW 645Ci convertible from BMW NA's press fleet because I was writing a Roundel article about the car. The big sled had an MSRP of $84700. I parked it right in front of the shop. You want to guess how many people asked if they could help me?

Zero.

If they wouldn't give the time of day to a guy driving a very expensive car, I shudder to think how they'd treat me if I had showed up in my muddy six year old Wrangler.

Morons."

You know, I have no doubt Lexington sucks, but @lambroving explains the probable cause with the title pretty well here I think: http://www.triumphrat.net/biker-hang-out/635218-triumph-demands-dealers-bail-13.html#post7518210.

If I understand, it's likely that Triumph or the bank holds the title. Lexington needs to do that paperwork and move money to get the title to get it to the bank.

Or something, that is already more than I know. But based on lambrovings writing there, the delay in the title getting to the bank may not be nefarious.

Sadly though, if the dealer collected the funds and spent them elsewhere rather than paying off the floor plan..., and now hasn't got the cash to pay off the bike..., a call to the Attorney General's office might be in order. They ARE a licensed dealer after all. Hope that's not the case.

As you said, they may just be horribly incompetent and inefficient too and only process payoffs every couple of weeks. Some lenders are equally screwed up too.

At this point I might be tempted to light a fire under them though...

BTW, if you are riding around on an expired temp plate, your final move with these people would be a call to the state police. Final move though as the sh*t will hit the fan!!!
