Thanks John! The Speedmaster is my first street bike. I grew up riding enduro. I could have bought any entry level cruiser I wanted, but I like Triumph's heritage and individuality. Plus, I have no problem backing GB. They've been our alies and brothers across the pond for years after the Revolutionary war. I wanted to be patriotic and look at H-D, but can't stand the outlaw biker image/lifestle. This bike really grows on me and I appreciate it more and more. It's not necessarily suitable for the purpose I use it, as a daily commuter. Now in my early 50s, it is my only mode of transportation. I looked at the new 1050 Tiger and 1050 Sprint ST, but can't afford either. I've test ridden a 2007 Rocket III Classic Tourer at Biker's Edge as part of Triumph's Ride to Win promotion. I was pleasantly suprised by the bike in most respects, except perhaps appearance. That motor is just unattractive to say the least!
I must say, I respect your posts (I been doing a little research and reading them) and your experience with numerous Triumph models. Thanks for the info on the El Dorado Springs dealership/service dept. I wouldn't mind meeting other Triumph riders. In any event, thanks for your contributions!
