Labor Cost

I need new tires, front brake pads, fork seals, and fork gators for my Bonneville. The local dealer here charges crazy amounts for labor. The next closest dealer is much less but is 45 minutes away.

Rocket Motorcycles (Mostly Triumph, San Diego) $900
North County Motorsports (Yamaha, Triumph, KTM, Polaris and Victory in San Marcos 45 minutes away) $670

I'm thinking that it's worth the trip to NC.

Anyone familiar with North County's work?

Kind of a no brainer...90 minute round trip ride to save $230...the work you want done isn't rocket science.

That's what I was thinking. Anyone know of any "non-dealer" shops in San Diego that do good work for less $$?

This is an ancient post but I figured every now and then somebody will search for it and find it... So, for non-dealer work, go to Kontiki Cycles in Pacific Beach. You can Google it. It's an old-school shop, but the owner recently passed the business to his son Alex. Alex used to work at Rocket so he's a trained Triumph tech. He should be able to do most work. The shop's gritty and down to earth. I would *HIGHLY* recommend them over Rocket. F Rocket.
