We stopped by Great Bay Motorcycles in New Hampshire last weekend during a trip to Maine. They were in the middle of painting and renovating their showroom, but practically dropped everything to welcome us.
I wanted to pick up a couple of Triumph shirts and even though their entire stock was put away for the renovation the young lady bent over backwards to pull out a bunch of shirts of different colors.
We're looking forward to stopping by there again in the future. A real class act!

Great Bay was very helpful for me too. I purchased my 06' Tiger from them at the end of December. They were willing to store the bike for the winter at no charge. I appreciated the offer, but the bike is so much easier to fondle in my garage instead of theirs.
By the way, I priced around all the other Triumph dealers in the area and none of them could come close to the price that Great Bay offered me.

I'm not impressed with his service department or mechanics.
Anyone can sell t-shirts.........
I brought my 97 Sprint Sport over for a fuel starvation problem.
The guy asked me twice if it had been remapped, No it's a carb model, no mapping..........twice.
I said I wanted the fuel issues resolved and an oil change.
He explained they won't mount tires unless purchased from them, ok liability b/s but I can understand.
I go over on a Saturday, they've had the bike 2 or 3 days, and no oil change is done. They cleaned the carbs, no mention of tank being pulled and cleaned out, just $180+ for a carb cleaning. hmmmm ok what about the oil change ?
Oh sorry we can do that now, for $60 !!
Over an hour later they wheel my bike out.
Yea it runs well, but now my low fuel light doesn't work.
As in I ran OUT OF GAS....and the petcock/fuel tap didn't want to turn.
So what do I do ? Bring it back to them, from 2 weeks ago ? And tell them to fix it ? Or fix it myself ?
By the way they are about an hour away from me.

I bought my 06 Sprint from GB and found the purchase and sales floor experience satisfactory. Don is a truly personable fellow, he gave me a great deal on my Sprint and I wanted to do business with him.
Unfortunately I have to agree with Sprint97, I had issues with both parts and service.
Parts:
I had to push to get the free sidebags that were part of the Sprint purchase. I was told they'd order them when I got the bike and it would take 4-6 weeks. By the end of the summer they still hadn't contacted me. I inquired and was told that the free luggage deal didn't apply to me. BS! They finally got them in, I ended up installing them myself.
Service:
At the 6K service, I asked that they check an oil leak on the clutch side cover. It was definitely leaking, but they insisted that everything was fine. I was in a hurry and chose not to push back, but over the next few months I watch as the leak get steadily worse.
About this time another dealer started carrying and servicing Triumphs. Bonus, its only an hour away rather than the two it takes me to get to Great Bay.
I brought it to them for the recent swingarm recall and, low and behold, the clutch cover bolts had no torque on them at all. Apparently the tech didn't torque the freakin' thing. That would explain the increased leakage!
I now get my service from Second Wind BMW/Triumph in Merrimack NH. Not only are the salespeople awesome, more importantly, so are the service staff.
Great Bay always had a loaner bike and always gave my bike a seriously professional cleaning after service. I'd give them another chance but the distance isn't worth it while I have a closer and seemingly more reliable alternative.

I've ordered parts from them over the phone - hit and miss - it seems to make a difference who answers. One guy (forget his name) told me to be sure to ask for himn because the other guy in parts is an idiot. A special order sprocket cover never did come in (but at least I did not pay for it). I must have ordered that from the idiot. Other parts/accessories arrived in a few days. So ordering on the phone has been hit and miss. At least for me.
I inquired about accessories using Great Bay's e-mail link a few weeks ago. My e-mail was not answered so I tried again in a few days. They said the first one might have been mistaken for SPAM and deleted. Jeez, it's THEIR link.
I did get an answer the second time and followed up with another question - still have not heard back from them. Maybe that message was deleted, too. I'm trying to order some stuff to have waiting for me when I get back from Iraq in September but I'm really leary of using their on-line ordering.

I've had a great experience with Great Bay. Bought my 05 Daytona, at a better deal than other local dealers. After 750mi, the engine light would set intermittently. It took them three visits to fix (beware faulty fuel level indicators), but it was apparent they took a throrough look each time. Bought a number of parts and accessories from them, always with good results.
Can't say enough about Don, he's the reason I'll ride past the two MA dealers to visit GBM!

dealer reliability
I've never had to have my bike in for service. I did break a foot peg, which GB put on for me n/c. My last purhcase did go to Second wind though, but only because GB did not have any sprint ST in stock. I would say that both dealers are pleasant to deal with during the sale, but service after the sale is where it's easiest to fall down. I will say that one of the bags for the sprint came from the dealer defective (the bag could not be removed from the bike by the key), and the spare cylinder for the top bag was missing. Second Wind had the bag and the extra key shipped to my work for me no questions asked!

I didn't end up making a purchase on my Thrux from them (online purchase), but I will say their pre-sales efforts and communications where very good. I would definetly stop by the shop on a road trip for a looksee.
