I recently bought a 2000 Sprint RS, and will need to have 6000 mile service done soon. In the Seattle area, my choices are basically Cycle Barn in Lynnwood (closer to me) and I-90 Motorsports in Issaquah (not very close to me). Anyone had service done at either of these places?

I have all of the servicing of my ST done at Cycle Barn - and both Perry and Scott are outstanding Triumph techs.
Of course, I do work there so I might be a tad biased....

I don't work there, but have been satisfied with Cycle Barn so far. I have a friend who is very satisfied with I-90. You are probably OK with either one.

I had some work done by the Cycle Barn mechanics as well, very satisfied. I was ready to be disappointed as I'm not impressed with the sales staff....

I bought my speed triple from and have it serviced at Cycle Barn.

At first I was weary of the quality of service because they're a high volume dealer and sell/service mostly Harleys and japanese bikes. However, I came to find out that they have a couple of the best Triumph techs in the area and I think they hired another guy away from I-90.

When I had it in for its 6K miles service (still under warranty), they found an anomaly in the system when it was hooked up to the diagnostic machine. They kept it a couple extra days to chase down the problem to a kinked line to one of the throttle bodies. They fixed it, re-synched all three throttle bodies and replaced the spark plugs - no charge and it ran like a beast...

Please allow me to amend that last statement,

I made a blanket statement about a group based on my impression of one person, my bad.

I'm looking for a thumper, DR650 to be exact, and the Cycle Barn had one on the used floor. I got to talk to a very competent and informed young lady named Jennifer who was a pleasure to talk to and offered no pressure to make a sale. That's how you sell motorcycles to guys like me. Herb Tarlek types get nothing.

She's a good one Dave, I'll be back.

And my Sprint RS runs better than ever after Perry did the California emmissionectomy on it.

I have shared all of your kind comments with all who were mentioned - thank you all!

I just had Scott do the 6k on my Sprint. I asked him to tighten up the front end a bit - WOW! It makes an incredible difference - whatever he did - it is now so much more confidence inspiring into corners - and more comfortable even in a straight line.

My guess is that Cycle Barn will support Triumph a whole lot better from a sales standpoint when the new facility opens. Still, since Triumph makes cruisers that are different from anything else made, I wonder if having them next to Harley Davidsons and everything else might be an advantage. After all, they come off pretty well by comparison.

As long as Perry and Scott stay with Cycle Barn, the service department will be just fine. My bike is always very happy to see Perry. Dunno what he thinks of the latest tune experiment, though!
