Triumph...Norton...is BSA next?

Triumph has been resurrected with resounding success. Norton is trying to make a comeback with the 961 Commando.

Even the legendary Indian is back, thanks to Polaris.

Can the return of BSA be far behind? I would love to see Triumph buy BSA and start by re-imagining the cute little BSA Bantam.

The scooter market is red hot, but crowded with lots of Vespa lookalikes. The Bantam would be a unique addition.

Eventually, they could re-introduce the Rocket and Lightning and other iconic BSA names.

Bring on the Bantam

I started my riding on a BSA Works Bantam trials bike back in '68, based on the 175cc D14/4

The very early pre '60 Bantams were 125 cc later models were 150 cc. Around 1960 or maybes just before they were 175cc. Very popular with The General Post Office, not so popular with the learners of the day who preferred the bigger 250cc C15's or B25's.

Until the '70's that is, my first road bike a Suzuki T250R and it gave the A10's and A65's of the day a proper run for their money.

I would love it if they brought BSA back. I've owned four BSAs back in the 60s and 70s.

1968 Lightning
1969 Lightning
1969 Firebird
1971 Goldstar

Excellent machines and very reliable. I'm now riding an original 1968 Triumph T120R.

I wouldn't mind a modern Gold Star.

I thought the Bantam was just a rebadged DKW, like the HD Model 125/Hummer...It ain't British. Bring back the Victors.

I'd like to see something happen with norton first. Right now they are too expensive and rare.

My 75 Commando was so torque strong I thought it was pushing my eyeballs back. I really miss that. Its why Triumph has a winner with the retro Bonnie. Even thought its not up there with an original.
