The Gengras group has purchased the Triumph franchise from Canton Cycles (Winsted CT) and will be doing business from a newly refurbished showroom on Connecticut Blvd in East Hartford CT. Gengras has been a large auto dealer for many, many years, and currently owns and operates Gengras Harley-Davidson/Buell around the corner from the new shop. In addition to Triumph, the new shop will also carry BMW and Ducati motorcycles.

I spoke with Skip Gengras this past Saturday, and they are excited about their new showroom, and their new brands (they've had Ducati since the summer, but it's crammed into a corner of the HD showroom).

If their BMW/Ducati/Triumph service is as good as their HD service has been (on the rare occasion I've needed it) it should be a good shop.

And the best news ... it's nearly 30 miles closer than the former dealership!

I bought my bike from Canton, and had them do my major servicing. But the shop in Winstead was a long ride from Madison! I'll check out the new shop, but want to hear some feedback on their Triumph techs before I bring my bike there for any service...

Just the oposite problem for me. Canton Cycles was 10 minutes away. Now is a good 50 minutes not counting Hartford traffic

Thanks for the info. Will have to check them out as I am 38 miles from Hartford. We should all meet there one day

I was in there earlier this afternoon, they just opened last week. They have BMW in a separate building (showroom) and Ducati and Triumph share another showroom. They seem to have most of the Triumph line there (a couple of '06 Tigers, Daytona, Daytona Triple, Speed Four, Speed Triple, three Rockets, a Sprint, various Bonnies, a Scrambler ... and probably a few I forgot). They carry Shoei helmets, and a small selection of Triumph rider apparel. They're just getting underway, so it'll take a little while before we can see how they will do. I did notice that pricing is MSRP ... and don't know if there's wiggle room built in.
