I'm taking a survey to determine purchase and service expeiences at dealerships in NC, VA and WV.
Also, are the service personnel certified trainees of Triumph where you take your bike?
The closest dealerships to my location in SW Virginia are Myers in NC; BMW/Triumph of Charlotte, NC; and a dealership in northern VA that also sells Moto Guzzi and Ducati. Those, by the way, are the marques that I am considering. ....if I'm unsuccessful finding a reputable Triumph dealer/service center.
Thanks, in advance for all who respond.

I believe the closest dealer to you is MillerBuilt Triumph in Lynchburg. Bill used to be a top dealer but it's kind of a hobby for him (he makes his money selling lawnmowers) now. Try Fox Suzuki/
Triumph in Roxboro, NC. (Only about 20 miles south of VIR). Great dealer and closer than DC or Charlotte. Very professional, seem knowledable and the owners (brothers) both ride Triumph's. They've been a Triumph dealer since 1995, I believe.

Oh, there's a dealer in Kingsport TN that may be pretty close to you.

According the dealer locator on the Triumph web site, there are no Triumph dealers in WV.

Thanks guys for the list. I'm still hoping that someone replies with actual experience with a dealer's sales manner and quality of the service, esp. regarding Triumph trained and/or authorized technicians. So far, I have not heard enough on the positive side to sway me from my other prospects (Ducati and Moto Guzzi).
Thanks for takin' the time to reply.

I don't have any experience with them, but that dealer in Bristol, Tn is reported by many in Kentucky to be excellent. Again, I don't know how far he is from you in particular, but I've only heard very very good things about them. I plan on going down sometime soon to check them out.

garanett,
Thanks, but which dealer in Bristol, TN? The Triumph dealers site does not list a Bristol dealer (neither TN or VA...it is a border town straddling both states). It does list a dealer in Chattanooga (Southernpowersports) but the link is dead.
In KY there is only one listed, Transport Triumph of Lexington. Is that the one you mean?

I thought I did that. :???: To be more specific, I bought my Speed Triple from the dealer in Roxboro, NC. I was greeted at the door on my initial visit, the salesperson/co-owner was very knowledgeable about Triumph products and treated me very well. I got the bike for what I think is a reasonable price. Dealer did a couple of things that were "over and beyond" what I might expect, such as not charging me to ship my rear seat to my house when I picked up the bike because my ride to the dealership had already left. And this is sort of embarrassing but the same goes for my shoes! I rode down in a car with my gear in the trunk and when I suited up to ride the bike home, had nowhere to put the shoes. So those were shipped free also. I bought the high-mount pipe with the bike for almost $100 off retail and no charge for installation or new tune. The dealership itself is modern-looking and has one of every Triumph model I believe (or did when I bought mine).
I have not had enough experience with the shop mechanics to pass judgement.
I only wish the dealership was closer to me (in Roanoke).
