We're recently bought an '01 Legend (new from a Wisconsin dealer who air shipped it to us). The closest Triumph dealer to us is Frank's Cycles in Essex Junction Vermont. I was curious if any of you have used them for repairs and service and what were your experiences? Thanks for any input in advance. David

I have been in there a few times to buy oil etc. The only "experience" of them that I know is a protracted warranty claim/fix on a bike which had ignition problems. They were very slow dealing with Triumph and told some stories that didn't align with those that Triumph told when contacted directly. They also tried to tell the customer that the failure may not be warranty able as it might be an "act of God". They told them that it was possible that unbeknown to them the bike might have been struck by lightning (whilst inside a garage, and without leaving a mark I might add).

Heya, new to the boards here. I was born about 20 minutes from Franks back in 1971. I spent 11 years living right down the street from them, and watched their business grow to what it is today. Always seemed like a very family oriented shop-hard to find now-a-days. While they have never worked on any of my bikes, I can speak only good things about any sales inquiries or personal visits I have made there over the years and on military leave. As a matter of fact, I may be buying another Trophy IV through them (unless I find one closer to VA).
Like many shops, I don't believe they have always had or worked on Triumph. You have to admit, they are damn fine bikes barring a few problems along the way. Therefore, we could be considered the bikers elite.
I don't discount your experience Mick, but I also try not to make decisions based on a single experience. I have had bikes and cars encounter difficulty or baffle the mechanics. They are the "duty experts" but are not omnipotent or perfect.
I will let you know how my pending business turns out, just to lend another opinion along the way.

Thanks JRave, it's good to have a little balance on these threads.
