Hello,
I am sorry I don't have a specific dealer experience to share with you. However, at the last AMA event at VIR I did meet some folks who were associated with the delareship. One of the guys I met was named Michael Morley. He and the whole group of guys were very friendly. Based on my brief experience I would visit the dealership.

mcg24,
Thanks for your comments! I recently purchased an 05 Sprint from them via E-Bay, and they have been, er, less than prompt in handling this transaction. Maybe it's the holidays slowing things down and such, but I'm not used to this type of business behaviour. :brk:

I have seen all the bikes they have had on Ebay lately, figured you must have picked one up since you were asking about them. I wonder if they cant sell any bikes locally or what? Putting them up on Ebay is an option to open up your market I guess. Let us know how the rest of the transaction goes will ya? Nathan

Well, here's the latest update on my dealings with Back Roads Triumph in Jacksonville, NC. They received my certified payment on 12/22/05. They supposedly sent my certificate of origin, owners manual, and offical bill of sale on 12/23/05 "guaranteed overnight." The package finally arrived on 12/28/05. The bike was not loaded for shipment until 12/28/05. It was only loaded then because I called Federal Transport directly, took the lead, and ensured that they scheduled it for pick up with all due urgency. It is not scheduled to arrive to Florida until about the middle of January around the 13th or so.
The people at Back Roads Triumph seem nice and knowledgable. They just don't seem to understand the phrase "sense of urgency."
Over 2 weeks to deliver a bike 500 miles? Has anyone else any experience with shipping a bike? Is this to be considered normal?
Thanks for any input.
Marion

The slackers might have taken a day off for Christmas.

2 weeks is not so bad,
You shouldn't have paid top dollar for shipping at that speed though.

I don't believe thats the case with these gentlemen. I myself purchased a bike from them, my 03 TBA and received great service and representation from them. They are a small shop, and their name befits them. Yet something like that would still take time. They are a good group of professionals. I do not think that two weeks is a ridiculous time frame, especially if they gave you a good deal, which I am sure they did, or you would not have gone so far out of your way.

Sorry for the delay in updates. Brian at Back Roads really came through for me. When he found out the overnight hadn't arrived timely, he took ownership and was apologetic. More impressive though, was his action after learning that my bike had sit in the Orlando warehouse for a week! Apparently someone at Federal had mixed up tracking numbers, and it looked like my bike was somewhere it really wasn't. So, for a while no one seemed to be able to find my bike. His direct interaction got things moving quickly, and I received the bike the next day after he learned these things. Sadly, though, I could have had the bike a week earlier except for Federal's mix-up, and my new Sprint was covered from top to bottom in a THICK layer of dust. I might not ever ship with Federal again, but I WILL certainly purchase my next Trumpy from Back Roads!

rick bryan and j.b. at backroads are top notch. they've serviced my 2004 tiger since new 16000 miles now. they've took care of several warranty issues. i didn't by the bike there. only because i wanted a left over 2004 last year. the bike came from the house of power palm bay fla. they had the only 2004 tiger on the east coast. all my extras now and in the future will come from backroads as well as my next bike. :-D
