I don't know if there is a thread like this out there already....
BUT ---
I'd like a musing Topic about Triumphs Model Plans and what we would like to see on those models.
Also - Who thinks Triumph should do an Aston Martin and set up a Special Works division - where for those of us with money or a desire to be different can order a bike with trick Suspension, trick Paint lighter body parts, fettled engines etc.
Anyway - Model Plans....
Next Year we have...
The Delectable 675
Who thinks this should have a slipper clutch as standard
Who thinks this should come in BRG with Gold trim
Who would like to know if the indicators/license plate holder are easily removeable for track days?
The Laid back R3
Who thinks that a faired/Goldwing model should be on the cards.
Who would like to see that fat radiator redesigned.
Who would like to see some more foxy lights?
The Scrambler.
MAMA!
Who would like to see a 500cc version?
Who would like to see a serious weight loss program - but the same style?
2006/07
The new Tiger comes out.
Who would like to see a 675 engined tiger?
Who would prefer a Super Motard design
Who would like a more KTM adventure style?
What should Triumph do with the suspension etc?
The Naked 675 arrives (maybe earlier)
What should it be called?
What lights should it have?
What colours?
The baby Rocket arrives (on two cylinders)
In Line or Traverse?
Shaft Drive/Belt?
More Suspension travel in the rear?
A more corner friendly rear tyre
Riding position adjustable ?
2007/2008
The new 1275 shaft drive Trophy arrives.
Using an all-new three-cylinder long stroke engine.
Upside down forks
ABS
British Racing Green
Full fairing version and Full dressed (designed in panniers etc (FJR style)
Adjustable screen as standard
Heated grips as standard
Front and Back power points as standard
Wireless intercom option/Bluetooth for linking to cell.
Triumph Sprint Mods
Engine made over – produces more power and a slightly higher rev ceiling
Pipes re-routed and shielded to reduce heat.
Suspension fully adjustable.
Ride height adjustable
New screen – manually adjustable
New light system – much better for touring – taking something from the Daytona style.
New Daytona 975 arrives
Big brother to the 675 – same styling and minimalist pure engineering
975 Engine good for 175 ponies at the crank – 164 at the rear wheel
Features first Titanium Valves in a triumph engine
Exhaust option – fully titanium system
Exhaust remains under seat.
2008/09
A new fire-breathing Retro called the Hurricane arrives
And so on - feel free to add your own wish list options to the above - just edit what goes before - lets see where we get with this.

Allright, someone has to start!
I'm waiting for the 1275 Trophy with shaft drive, except I'll take sunset red. The new Sprint looks sweet in that color.
Oh, and there had better be a centre stand included in all that standard equipment.

While we're dreaming:
A 1200 cc Thunderbird Triple. The Bonnie is a sweet bike but not enough "oomph" for some of us. This would also give Bonnie riders a bike to move up to and still keep the classic Triumph look.
A 500-600 cc counterbalanced single. Since Triumph has no trouble using BSA model names (Rocket III) this could be the Gold Star. Light weight, precise handling and a low price would make this a fun bike. Dirt and SuperMoto versions to follow.

I think the Sunset Red is an awesome colour.
I agree on the centre stand -
I'd also like to see a trip friendly clock system - with a full colour screen - to optionally include GPS and sat Nav(also an index of bike friendly Inns and Hotels.!!!), temperature, elevation etc -

OK, if we're going to indulge in dreams:
1. SERIOUS WEIGHT LOSS for the Bonneville, T100 and Scrambler, preferably with a physically smaller engine to help with styling improvements, and designers who really understand the principles behind the old Edward Turner designs.
2. TBS-style version of the 675 PLEEEAAASE.
3. Flat-track version of the Bonnie (preferably after its diet programme is completed).
4. 100% with you Wildpig on the slimline 500cc Scrambler.
I dearly wish that Triumph would pay attention to these musings...

I just wish they would deuglyfy the Sprint ST. The hideous tank, tail section & saddlebags has cost them my money for '06. I'll soon be buying a FJR1300 instead of the Sprint.

I am already very happy that they are producing the 675. It has been a long time coming. Speed Triple and Tiger versions of it are a no-brainer. If the Tiger version had a lot more suspension travel and a lot more steering lock, it would be an amazing machine. Tune it for torque and I bet you could get some amazing low end grunt out of that engine.
I would expect them to do all kinds of things with both the 675 engine and the frame design. How about a 975 Daytona that is about the same size and weight as a 675, only with 300 more cc? Just hang a bigger engine under that frame. The sounds of a 675 TBS is pretty good, too. A 675 S3 would rip the eyeballs out of every SV650 ever built.
A serious racing program would be good, too. Just for some bragging rights. If Ducati can do it, so can Triumph. Except that Ducati is Italian and therefore fiscally irresponsible, but never mind that. If Triumph makes money by the fistfulls, they have to spend it somehow, or Mr. Bloor will have to pay lots of taxes. Racing gets rid of money faster than anything I can think of.

How about some true rouring bikes? The return of the trophey and a GoldWing-esque heavy cruiser would definately flame my passions.

I would like to see:
1. Speed 675 (naked)...that would be my Nirvana.
2. Big-bore TBS, but this time with no fake airbox styling.
3. Restyled R3 with cleaner lines...by Craig Vetter, a Hurricane R3!
4. Touring version of a restyled, cleaner, better integrated R3.
5. Big-bore twin with all of the best parts from the Thruxton & Speedy.
6. A more street-oriented Tiger.
And most of all...
More demo day rides!
