Question New Dealer in Birmingham, AL???

Someday (soon?), there may be a new Eurosports Dealer in Birmingham, AL, replacing the now-defunct Bogart's BMW-Triumph-Ducati-etc. The new dealership -- Red Mountain Motorsports -- has a website up at http://redmountainmotorsports.com/, but so far there isn't much news or information listed there. They are currently open in the old Bogart's location, but are looking for a new location (per the website)

Here's hoping they do open their doors fully in the next month or so, and that they practice good customer service, a trait that's been lacking at many, many dealerships of late (most of whom are no longer with us).

I wondered about Bogarts the last time I was there. They were only opening 4 days a week, and they seemed to lack any enthusiasm. I think that dealership was sick even before the market tanked.

I hope you get a good dealer... one befitting the close proximity to Barber's Vintage Motorsports Museum.

No question -- Bogart's was sick long before their demise. Check the threads here to see what's been said before. No use kicking a dead dog. Now that they're gone, let's hope we get a good dealer who knows how to promote the product (Euro-bikes) and serve the public (their many potential customers).

Surprisingly, there are no good dealerships near Barber's! The closest dealer of new bikes is Rider's Harley-Davidson, about 10 miles away in Trussville, AL.

Barber is obviously a lover of both Italian and British bikes. I always liked the fact that he would add current model Triumphs to the collection. What a great place to spend the day!

Stopped by Bogart's/Red Mountain Motorsports today to see if I could learn anything. Talked to Andy (Parts) and Kenny (Service). Learned that they've been approved for BMW, and the applications are still being processed for Triumph and Ducati. They're still looking for a location, but haven't found the ideal spot, yet. Weather & the Christmas holidays may have created part of the delay.

What I heard, I liked! Labor rates will be competitive, and much cheaper than they were at Bogart's. Parts/Accessories should be competitive, but may still need to be ordered. Standard replacement parts (filters, plugs, light bulbs, tires, etcetera) should be in stock. Clothing should be in nice selection, priced competitively, too.

What clothing/accesories remain from the old days is being blown out @ 50%! If they have something in your size, you can get a great deal right now.

Here's hoping they find that "right place" soon and start rolling in new bikes/parts/accessories soon. We're ready for a new, good, full-service Euro-bike dealer in Birmingham!

New shop is currently under renovation. The new business will be known as "BMW of Birmingham" as well as "Red Mountain Motorsports". Rumor still has it that it will be a Eurobike Shop, selling BMW, Triumph, Ducati. (Or is that just wishful thinking?). Talking with one of the principals just today, and the current best guess for opening is June 17. Location is on US78/Eastwood Area, where the old Sears Automotive Center/Century Plaza was located. Should be easy to get to off I-20/I-59, and not too bad from other roads.

Here's hoping they stay on this latest schedule!

If they are open and running by June 17 I'd try and stop by, I'll be in town for the AMA races at Barber.

Here's what one of the principals posted on a different website:

British Racing Green

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are hoping to open with BMW and Triumph. It is a day to day process with many challenging steps that are not all in our control but I'm still hoping for a soft opening around June 15 with a grand opening perhaps July 8 or 9.
