How About an Adventure Bike?

I love the Triumph brand and the bikes in the Triumph product line are superb. however, the product line is not diverse enough.

What about a Triumph adventure bike? Am I the only one that would be interested in such a machine?

I'm not looking for a copy of a V-strom or a 'GS. I would want the bike to be uniquely Triumph. I own a Scrambler, which I love, but I keep lusting for something more. Something with a higher ground clearance, dual disc's up front, about 30 more horsepower, About 50 less ponds, a minimal fairing and small shield for the highway and better suspension.

If you could "morph" the Tiger and the Scrambler then you might have something.

Is any one else lusting for a Triumph adventure bike?

I'd like to see a 675 Tiger designed to be a true dual sport.

yeah... I'm one of them too but a bike hefty enough for roads is too heavy for dirt...can't have your cake and 6 Day Trials too.

the first (1995-ish?) Tiger (skid plate and dirt trim) gave me wood but didn't sell as they hoped.

I ideally need a 200 lb.Gas Gas, a (<) 300 lb. peppy mud beater, a 450 lb. quick run thru the park-er, and a 2 1/2 ton Gold Wing cushy-throne Pig.

Add me to the list of people who think a truly "GS" type bike with a 675 engine wuld be phenomenal.

I have an F650GS (single) now, and love it- and have been eyeing a Scrambler- but the reality is that a 675 true GS (not the new, street-oriented Tiger, but more like the "olde" Tiger 955) would have me making some fast moves to make it happen.

BTW- make mine in Strontium Yellow.

Tiger "Cub" with a detuned 675 engine for more torque has been in the works for three years now. I think it would've been this year if the economy hadn't tanked. Hopefully, Triumph has gotten the cruiser line squared up with the T-Bird and can start tweaking the rest of the line. In Europe, the F800 BMW's are quite well received and this Mid-sized market needs to grow for Triumph as well to keep new blood coming into motorcycling. Lighter weight and more aggressive bikes would help. The 675 engine is a great motor that'll go 160mph in the Daytona form. I think if a real adventure bike pulled in around 95hp with 60lbs torque out of the sme engine, it'll be a riot.I'd like to see a Trident come out , using a retro/cafe look with this great engine.

Now that sounds encouraging. Maybe I'll hold off on a Wee Strom or a GS for another year to see if the Tiger Cub becomes a reality.

I think two versions of the Tiger would go down well, the old 955 was more of a dual bike than the current model, there's definitely room for a 675 dual sports version. Can't let the Suzuki DR's have it all their own way.
