What is Triumph's Best Seller?

Anyone have the sales numbers?

Looking for a clue on where they may be headed next based on what sells.

Triumph don't release sales figures but we do know they sold 49,000 bikes last year which will soon put them as Europe's # 1 bike manufacturer over BMW.

I think the Bonneville is still their top selling bike, I've read somewhere 80% of their production of this model goes to the US.

Here's newspaper link which was recently posted on the Biker Hang-Out Forum:

Bonneville would be a good indicator that a new standard type bike would make sense.

Enough already with the cruisers Triumph.
Let's have some bikes for riders.

Their whole range sells well, which specific type were you looking at ?

The Street Triple is also a good seller.

TBirdnz,
Looking for a modernized replacement for a classic Thunderbird.
Having all background on standard type bikes, and the aging back that does not ride in a curved stance, no cruiser is ever going to fit the bill.
I like to hit the curves at speed without having to prethink the whole thing.

So Triumph needs to backtrack and get a bigger standard than the Bonneville out there. It doesn't really matter how many cylinders to us at this point.

It shares its engine with the Street Triple, Triumph's best-seller

Thanks for posting, definitely worth a read if you're interested in Triumph history.

Thanks SG, probably the current best seller, should have chosen my words better, more Bonnevilles around and last article I read prior to this one was more were sold in the US than any other model.

I think Beemie that your lament is shared by all Thunderbird triple riders, we wanted a similar replacement of say around 1200cc, but I wouldn't want a bigger twin, definitely it has to be the triple, more all-round grunt, that's what sorts out the Thunderbirds from the Bonnies. At the very least I would have been happy if the Thunderbird 900 still was being made, not many of us are letting these bikes go, you can't replace them.

According to a previous thread citing the Dealernews and Daily Mail Reporter, the Daytona was the best selling model in 06-08. Sounds like the Street Triple is gaining momentum this year. Midsize is the volume market ...
