Special offers not to kind to dealers
Here in Oz we don't get much in the way of discount so I was pleasantly suprised to find a newsletter from Triumph Oz in my inbox.
Even better to see they had a few offers on bits for the Sprint. A pair of axle covers at 25% off catches my eye so off I trot to the local good blokes.
So far so good, but the dealer didn't know about the special offer, they hadn't been informed by Triumph!. Being the good guys that they are they gave me the discount price but explained that they paid the full bulk order price when they ordered them last month.
Long and short of it is, Triumph organise a promo but the dealer has to cop the loss in profit. Surely this can't be right. I have a lot of time for my dealer and will support him over internet prices unless it is a major difference. They're all doing it tough so a bit of support from big T wouldn't go amiss.
