First time poster and long time lurker here... after years riding and too many bikes to mention i am buying a finally buying Triumph - likely a thruxton.

Now the hard part- where to buy? I have heard some mixed reviews of the dealers in my area (Washington DC) so i thought i would turn to the community for advice - any suggestions?

I am willing to travel to dover, philly, etc if it means buying from a fair and knowledgeable dealer.

A bunch of guys from the DC and Baltimore area have come up to PA and gone to Capital Area Triumph near Harrisburg.

There is Clinton Cycles right outside of Andrews Air-force Base. It's definitely the closest. I bought my bike there...not a bad dealer.

You might check out Fredericktown Yamaha/Triumph in Frederick MD. I bought my Bonneville there, nice people, a small, unpretentious family-run business.

And if you want the exact opposite type of dealer experience, you can go next door to the Harley mega-store and boutique.

Manayunk Triumph in Philadelphia also has a good reputation, although I don't have any personal experience with them.
