New To CT, Looking for a Triumph Dealer

I am new to the Connecticut area and am interested in picking up a Speed Triple. I was looking for some information on some past experience and recommendations on dealerships in the area. Any thoughts or comments will be greatly appreciate.

Where are you located? There is a dealer in a not so great area of New Haven, Libby's, and there is Gengras in East Hartford.

I live in Bristol. I am more entitled to go to East Hartford, then New Haven. Has anyone used the Gengras dealership before? Either positive or negative experiences?

Gengras appears to be accomodating in the show room but I've tried to call service and parts and they didn't answer the phone in 6 attempts through half a day. I'll be darned if I leave an answering machine message for a dealer who can't pick up the phone.
When I finally got through they said that they were busy!
Read into that as you may.

In the past I trailered my bike to NH to Great Bay Triumph.
They bent over backwards to help me even though I didn't buy it from them, and they did cure my problems and pushed 2 expensive warantee claims through within days of realizing what was needed.
And it's a fantastic place to ride along the shore there.

I've been to Gengras in E. Hartford and they were more than accomodating even when I couldn't buy! Go to Gengras and ask for Forrest. I even took a Bonnie out for a spin.

I too went to Gengras. Nice place, kinda big box dealership. Forrest is nice to work with but when it came down to dollars and cents, they charge a $400 document fee for a new bike. Kinda high for a little paperwork. Went instead to Performance Cycles in Shrewsbury MA where the doc fee is just $89 and they gave me a $500 gift card since they are having a sale this week. Nice homey place with an owner who has been there for about 37 years. Obviously haven't had to deal with service yet but so far have a good impression. Hope this helps. Picked up the new Thrux today and ready for many miles of fun this year!

Pre-open house at Gengras tomorrow.
20% off clothing, or so says the mailer.

Cool confusion

I started looking at both gengras and libby's. I've heard rumors about gengras and staff issues, will i get treated right? on the other hand libby's seems to have their hands in many baskets, skidoos!? how much focus is on triumph? I'm going to be spending a good amount of money, i want to know it's worth it!

Libby's has a good reputation. They move a lot of bikes. I have my Bonneville and my Star Stratoliner serviced there. Dan in sales is a good guy. I've bought five bikes from him, but they were all at another Triumph dealership that closed.
