engine light

everything was fine before i stored it for winter in november. Went to start it, battery was completely dead. charged battery, it starts, but now the engine light is on.
also, it turns over real slow before starting. could battery just be bad and also causing the engine light to come on.

Do you have tune ecu and the cable? Could be a voltage issue, and a bad battery

I have the cable, need to get tune ecu again, laptop i had it on has been reloaded. I did put a new r/r in it a couple years ago and did the mods on here for that.

battery tested bad so i replaced. it starts a lot better now, but the light is still on. Does it just need reset or something? OR will it go out on it's own?

It depends on what the light is for, I would take it on a ride and see if it clears

It will clear in about 3 heat and cool cycles. Don't stress. I had the light come on because I turned the key on with no fuel pressure. Have fun on your bike!

Also, you can get an inexpensive OBDII scanner from auto parts store and read and clear the codes.

Odds are the light came on due to low voltage. It'll go out on its own after 3 cycles like mentioned earlier.
