Tyres for 885i Tiger any suggestions?
My 885i Tiger needs some new tyres. It is fitted with Metz Tourance tyres at the moment but the bike will never see off road in the future so i would have thought that a standard road tyre would be better. Has anyone got any suggestions for tyres to fit the 19" front and 17" rear spoked wheels? Not costing a fortune would be good too.
While we are here, can a "tubeless" tyre be used with a tube? I am guessing my Tiger will have tubes front and back.
Thanks.

I have Continental Road Attacks on my 955. They are road tyres and I find them great. Nice and stable around corners, good grip no problems on white lines etc. Not sure about longevity as have not had bike long, they have done about 4000 miles so far and plenty of wear left at the moment.

So you can put tubeless tyres on then? Only obviously with a tube in.

Yes you can.
I would stick another set of Tourances on. Good grip, great in the wet and last forever.

I got Anakee 2 fitted to the 955i, I did have Tourance on the front but and damp roads it felt a bit slippery, although it done great milage.
In heavy rain it was good, dry roads it was good, but if it started to rain felt slippery. So i went back to Anakee's good in all weather condition.

Put British tyres on a British bike and get Avon Storm Ultra2 rear and an Azzaro front. They really are soooo much better than the bike.

Anakee II. GREAT tires. I've clocked over 5k miles and they look good for another 5k. This is a combination of road/gravel/dirt. I'll replace with the same tires when it's time to replace.

Ah, now then, i cant have Avons, my mate had a pair of Azaro's on a ZXR400 in the late 90's, he complained all the time of lack of grip, i thought he was just being a ***** till i saw him spin the back tyre up under acceleration, in a straight line, on a motorway, at 80mph. They were the worse tyres ive ever seen. As everyone knows, tyres are 70% in the head, therefore i could never put Avons on a bike.

The Azzaro front is superb and the Storm2 rear is completely different. Bike mag tested these and they came out on top. I can confirm that they are better than the bike.
