What does this service entail on a 955i tiger, I've got a big trip coming up and I want to spend my on beer and wine not on a triumph dealer to charge a load for something i can do at home.

I haven't got a service manual.

If you've done the 24,000 mile service, including checking the valves then the next service is actually a 30,000 mile service. There's a service called for every 6,000 miles alternating between a minor and major. 30,000 mile service would be a minor service and, according to Triumph, include the following...

oil and filter change
throttle cable check and adjust
check fuel system for leaks
check for stored DTCs in ECM
idle/CO level check and adjust
check spark plugs
check coolant level and leaks
check brake fluid level
check brake pads
check tire air pressure
check tires/wheels for damage
check drive chain rubbing strip
check and adjust drive chain slack
lube drive chain
clutch cable adjust

thanks brook, All that looks straight forward,

I'll change oil and filter, I did the air filter last year, tyres are new are is the brakes but I'll cheoil and filter change

What do you have to do for:

check fuel system for leaks

check coolant level and leaks

check drive chain rubbing strip

clutch cable adjust fluids.

I check the safety aspects like brake pads etc., change the oil and filter
and if it aint broke, don't fix it.

I wouldn't trust any dealer further than I could kick them. Learn to do it
yourself.

Park it up, leave for several hours, check underneath for anything that's dropped onto the floor.

Bit of a sweeping statement there, Pickaxe................. I guess you have had some bad experiences with dealers / workshops? Not everyone has the ability, tools or inclination to do their own servicing. You might want to take a trip to see Mark & Carl at Windy Corner.

Yes, you're absoloutely right, I must have had a bad day.

Generally speaking though, I'd stand by what I said.

It doesn't take too much ability or that many tools to complete a bike service.
