Smile Fuel Sending Unit "Recall"

Hey all,

While setting up some service for my '02 Tiger, I mentioned to the dealer that my fuel sending unit has been completely unreliable for the last 2-3 years, and that I understand a lot of other riders have the same problem. She called Triumph to see about a replacement, and called me back. Since the sending unit IS so troublesome, Triumph agreed to provide a new sending unit for free (~95.00 USD), only requiring I pay labor to install it.

Since the service I've set up is for valve adjustments and throttle body balancing (tank off), the labor for the unit come to about $25 USD. Sweet. If your gauge has been driving you nuts, call your local dealer and find out what they can do for you. The dealer here in Portland is Cascade Moto Classics. Good people.

I am going to go talk to my local dealer and hopefully they will call Triumph for me with the same results. I am so tired of watching the gas gauge go updownupdownupdown, At night I put a piece of tape over the low fuel light.

It acted up about a year ago and was ok for awhile after I pulled it adn cleaned it up a bit but now I think it's beyond saving. It only takes about an hour to change out.
