Plug - under tail piece

Hi, does anyone know what the plug under the tail section is for? I suspect it's there for fitting an alarm. It seems to have a few pins shorted out by wire loops.

My 600 Fazer had a similiar plug, when you removed the wire loops the bike became immobilised. Is this possible on the Tiger?

If anyone has a wiring diagram i'd be interested to know what the pins 'do' on the plug... eg. is there a constant/switched live etc.

My bike is a 2006 model with no alarm and i don't mean the plug for the 'gameboy'!

Regards,

Chris.

You're right, it's so you don't have to splice any wires when fitting the alarm. You just plug it in. As long as it's the Triumph Datatool alarm of course.

If I remember correctly from previous Datatools, the blanking connector can be put back in, should the alarm feck up, and the bike can still be started. Not sure on the S4 though.

Alarm Plug

The jumpers are there to bypass the missing immobilizer inside the alarm. The ECM sends out a switched live voltage after the key is turned on that powers the instrument cluster and fuel pump, it also goes to ins 1 and 3 of the alarm plug, the jumpers go from pin 1 to 2, and 3 to 5. Pin 5 goes out to the starter button to make switched live power available, Pin 2 goes thrugh fuse 5 to the engine kill switch.
