05 front brake resolution...?
After replacing the two front disks twice (making three different sets) Triumph consented that there was a problem beyond just replacing them. I now have a new front wheel along with new disks. I also replaced the pads. Haven't put many miles on the bike as I just got it back this afternoon but everything is like it should be.
It took a while to resolve this situation (3 years) but, hopefully, my one big frustration with an otherwise great bike is over.
Now I have to plan my summer trip. California, Canada, C...?

Yes, if the wheel has been poorly machined or finished where the discs are mounted, the discs will simply warp again.
After each disc change, were the brakes satisfactory and for how long?

The first set went bad somewhere around 2k- I was on a cross country trip and could do little to resolve it until I returned some 5K later. The next set lasted between 1-2K, again on a trip, and the third were noticeable after about 750 miles. By the third set I knew what I was feeling right away. It became progressively worse.
Each time they were replaced the brakes worked fine but after some miles I would start to feel a certain uneveness when braking. While I didn't feel I had lost any braking power it was a safety factor in slow speed maneuvers and made for some awkward moments. I don't ride like a racer and have never had this kind of situation with any other bike I have owned.
The local mechanic stood up to Triumph after they wanted to replace the disks one more time. When I talked to the rep about this problem last year he was polite but noncommittal about Triumph's responsibility outside of the one year warranty on any genuine parts.
Maybe the new wheel will do the trick as I think the rotors were more a symptom than the problem.

My first replacement discs are still OK after 1k miles, but I'll not be convinced until they've covered a few more miles.
The problem isn't confined to Triumph. My previous bike, a BMW R1200RT purchased from new, had to have new discs within the first 1000 miles.
It was obviously common on the BM, the dealership didn't even inspect the discs. They took my word for it on a phone call and ordered the discs for fitment at the next service.
The Triumph dealership weren't quite as forthcoming and I had to be quite firm about my complaint. They tried to tell me that the 'runout' was within tolerances.
I've mentioned before, I'm sure many riders don't pick up on the symptoms and there are many more cases that aren't reported.

Just as a note, I had my '955 2006 in today for it's 6,000 miles service. I mentioned that the front brake discs felt warped.
Without any questions asked, the dealer ordered a new set from Triumph to be changed under warranty at a later date.
Looks like it may be a common problem.

I'm going to take my 2005 in this week for its third set of front discs in 13k miles. I got the bike last September with 7k miles on the odo and severely warped rotors. The second set performed well until a spirited pass through Deals Gap during Superbowl Sunday ruined them. If Triumph doesn't cover these, I'll buy some EBC rotors.

Strange how this seems to only affect the cast wheel versions? I had a 2005 in Canada with Rocky mountain motor cycle tours and I could just starting to feel it on the lever. My own 2006, to date has covered 6000 miles and no problems................. could I be tempting fate?

My replacement disks are just beginning to feel weird again after about 2,000 miles. I'm going to do a few braking runs to make sure, but if they are warped/badly annealed then I'll be back to the dealer too.
My mate bought a s/h Tiger with 3 days left on the 2 year warranty. Took it in for an inspection as he thought the discs were warped and Triumph changed them without question. It's obviously a well documented, known problem that dealer's should have little issue with.

It was never the dealer that had a problem with replacing the disks as they were covered under warranty. My issue has been Triumph's reluctance to admit there was a bigger problem and do the right thing the first time. I am not the only one with this experience. Getting it fixed, again and again, meant too many miles of riding with a malfunctioning braking system.
I am hopeful the new wheel means the end of this situation with my otherwise great Tiger. They just shouldn't test my loyalty to the marque too much.
