I'm also Black with reasonably shiny bits in Essex. This is maybe about the 15th Hinckley Triumph I had bought since 1994 and too be fair, the only one that has ever given me any significant problems. However, if this China sourcing thing is going to be a long running episode in the Company's history, I may also be a part of that history! There can be NO excuse for sourcing sub-standard parts into a premium product IMHO. No problem with out-sourcing - all the major manufacturers do it, in any industry. But to ignore primary quality and safety standards and then be in denial at the customer interface is a step too far (again IMHO).
I really hope that from my view-point this is end of story.

I've had my Tiger from new in August 2002 and I've just replaced my original discs at 48000 miles because they were worn out.
The originals have "SUNTAR" on them as a trade mark. Sounds China to me. Maybe the cast wheel don't dissipate the heat so well as the spoked wheel hubs.
Anyway, I replaced mine with floating discs from "Stealth Products" at £295 for a set of 3 discs and pads. It took them a while to get the order right but since fitting them I've been very happy with them.

I read your note earlier and I think you have the ultimate solution there. Do you have part numbers for the Stealth discs/pads?

Just a footnote - have now done a few hundred miles with the JMJ Engineering discs in all weathers and they have bedded in well with OE pads. Smooth braking and (so far) no rust. I have taken the OE discs to an engineering chum and as they are stainless iron and magnetic they can possibly be ground flat without removing more than 10 thou. Bearing in mind other comments that Sunstar OE discs have achieved significant mileages without problems, albeit it on wire-wheeled bikes, this may be a cost-effective longer term fix.

Sorry for the delay in replying. It's probably no help anyway now you've gone for JMJ but Stealth don't seem to have a part number.
