Instrument lights gone

Hi all. The bulbs on my 04 Tiger have gone and when I took them out it I was surprised to see that they were LEDs. I didn't think LEDs were supposed to blow. Anyone got any advice on replacement or if they are standard or not.......etc, etc.

I replaced one in my speedo a while back, not LED though, just a push in lamp.
The replacement was from my local bike shop, and was a bit of a sloppy fit, but its still working.

have all the lights stopped working? if so you might want to have a look at the connectors/fuse

I would guess you are not the first owner. LED's are a common fix to replace the standard bulbs that are non to bright particularly on the speedometer.

They do blow as you have discovered.

Its your choice either replace them with LEd's or replace them with standard bulbs.

If you track back you (use my name to get the link) will find a fiull listing of what LED replaces what.

I changed all mine and would not go back now.

This is the source to get them.

If I had to do it over again, I would not use a LED in the high-beam indicator. It's like having a blue laser shined in your eye whenever it's on! The next time Maggie is taken apart, I'm going to put something inside the lens to cut down on the light. Rarely do you need less light on a motorcycle, but this is a place where too much is not a good thing!
