Windscreen weirdness, NOT buffeting!

A few windscreens ago I bought a GIVI that came with a bunch of warning stickers. The strangest - because I live in Arizona - was the warning not to park the motorcycle in the sun because of the danger of the screen focussing the sunlight on the motorcycle and causing damage. I laughed that one off!
Well.....I now have a Cee Bailey's screen that I really love, but it also looks like I have two places on my instrument panel that have been melted a bit by the blazing rays of the Arizona sun! I think I'll modify a tee shirt, Triumph for sure!, that I can pull over the screen when parked outdoors. Luckily I have parking at work that is under roof and a garage at home.
I'm sure glad the warning wasn't, "Do not operate motorcycle outdoors!"

A guaranteed fix for avoiding the magnifying effect of the screen melting the dash...

England.

It's presently 4 degrees centigrade and wet. Who would want to live in Arizona when you can have that?

As the effects you have experinced wont happen over here, I`d appreciate your views on the non Triumph screens, I`ve got a standard and touring screen on my 99er and both cause alot of wind noise. I was thinking of cutting one down a bit to see if it helped.

Bill, that's an interesting story..... and one that you should send to the Mythbusters!

I've not had any problems, but all my screens, Eagle, stock and MRA Vario are smoke flavoured, is your Cee Baileys clear or smoked? Bit of a hassle having to put a cover on it each time you parked, I'd just park it the other way round, back to sun if at all possible.

Send photos of the panel?

Mick

never had problems, even living in greece with 45+ degrees celsius during summers.

Use a good plastic polisher and it will last as long as it meant to.
