Question Weatherproof switch

Hi,

I am about to add an LED driving light to the front of the Tiger, but I'm no auto electrician !, I'm trying to find a simple waterproof switch I can mount that will allow on and off, and if it has a momentory on posistion as well that would be even better !.

There are stacks on RS and Farnell, but I don't understand what I'm looking at,

Have you guys any ideas ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

In the US Harley shops are a good source for auxiliary stuff like that. Probably not common in the UK. Maybe a boat supply house.

I've used number 36450 on this page from vehicle wiring products for a changeover high level brakelight / fog light for mine. It seems quite well made but I haven't got it wet yet.....

It fits quite neatly next to the heated grips switch.

VWP are an excellent source for lots of stuff.

I used a metal toggle switch like the ones from VWP, sourced from Maplins with a waterproof rubber cover for my aux, lights (located in fairing next to heated grips switch) . Has been subjected to much wet weather without problems.

First, make sure it's the correct voltage and current rating or it will burn out. Same applies to the wire you use... Watts divided by volts equals current, this should narrow your search!

Where did you get your light?

Thanks for all your help, Maplins it is then !,

The light came from EVS

http://www.emergencyequipmentshop.co...96f6fe7e8aa7ec

I bought it as I have a hell of a lot through London Commuting to do, and a bit of extra visability cant hurt !

Don't thing the boys in blue will approve of the flash patterns though !

Above the starter button on the throttle side of the handlebar there seems to be a pop-out filler which could be used to take a switch. Does anyone have any knowledge of what could go in there. I have not been able to find any information from fiche or manual.

It was the place for the on/off switch for the lights.

Is the switch still available...and is there a part number? It is a great place for an auxiliary light switch.
