are we saying that grease on the pins is a good thing then as long as they are maintained on a regular basis? or as others have suggested is it better to leave dry but perfectly smooth?

I've always used copper slip on the pins and never had a problem with siezure or uneven pad wear. I always use it on the caliper bolts as well.
