Some of the torque settings are really low, like no more than finger tight, so I got myself a 3/8 dr torque wrench which reads 4-20Nm/40-180lbf.in
Things like the camshaft cover are made from soft magnesium and are therefor easily damaged from overtightening, they are only torqued to 10Nm roughly 7ftlb.
I'm not obsesive about torqueing everything exactly, but where there are mutiple fixings I do and I always use the torque for the low ones.

Hi BigStripey

I'm about to change my fork springs, do you know what the torque settings are for the fork tube cap and the fork clamp bolts. Thanks.

If it is a 955 then the triple tree clamp bolts are all 20Nm and the caps are 30Nm.

Be aware that the 05 Tiger has different torque values, rear wheel spindle nut for example is 110nm.

KK

ps this is what it said in my bikes handbook but have now seen i Triumph data sheet for Tigers from Vin No. 198875 and it is......

rear wheel spindle nut 85 Nm
front wheel spindle nut 60 Nm
brake pad retaining pins 18 Nm
sump plug 25 Nm
iol filter 10 Nm

KK

Where can we get the rest of the torque values for '05 Tiger please. My workshop manual still gives 85 Nm for the rear axle, so I guess it wasn't up to date when I bought with my new bike?
