Very sorry to hear of your problems, but as a delighted 1050 tiger owner 'I can honestly say thats not the norm. I would scream good and loud for a new bike. Dont take no for an answer, dont be placated. Do take out adverts in bike press if necessay, but above all blame Triumph not the dealer. ( even if its the dealers fault). DO NOT GIVE UP. Triumph are a british company and british law says if its no good it will be replaced. Fight hard and dirty. They do NOT like publicity. Local press are good.
keep the faith.

Very sorry to hear about your situation. Tassie Tiger has good advice though! Here in the US a car is a Lemon if it's off the road for more than 30 consecutive days or has problems no one can trace or fix. (It's a bit more complicated, but that's the gist of it.)
You're paying your government good money as taxes...time to call on them to give you some return, I'd say.

Yeah, I agree. Time to invoke the "Sale of Goods Act" if you have that down under.

I hope the good people of Triumph take time to read some of these theads, after all they sponsor the site. It would be good marketing one would think. And if they do you would think that they would jump in and fix a problem before the word speads about poor after sales service. Are you guys listening out there? Give old mate ohdiesel a hand in getting him back on the road. It would be nice to hear that the guys at the factory heard our voices and fixed the problem.

Being a total Triumph enthusiast as a '98 Tiger and '96 Speed Triple owner, I anxiously Demo'd a new 1050 Tiger. Initial impressions: 1) what's with the long throw on the shift lever into 1st?, 2) light and responsive, 3) what's with Triumph's involvement with recent Asian outsourcing/production? Is this thing made in China/ How will it hold up?
I backed up that ride with an '06 Tiger only wishing I could mount some 6-pot calipers up front and new springs Ft & Rr. Stout, comfortable, fast, smooth. The dealer just wouldn't back off of original invoice.

well just an update on my tiger, we are now moving into week 11. Has now had a new cylinder head as they believed the compression was to high. Still no results as engine still runs on two cylinders when cold, stalls etc. There is a light at the end of this frustrating tunnel, And no its not a train coming the other way. Triumphs Queensland rep fought long and hard and am now riding one of Triumph Australia,s 1050 triumphs, continual complaining has helped with that but still hasnt fixed mine bike as yet. They are talking about replacing the engine next if cant sort it. So if this happens this will be another 2 weeks off the road at least but there may be a end to it all. This bike was originally bought to send to New Zealand for my yearly ride, thinking it will be my reliable BMW R1150GS adventure. A good bike but was looking forward to riding the tiger in NZ.

Any resolution on your bike yet? You really should get your local politician involved.

I have had some intense aguments with Triumph over my 2006 Tiger. As you say, they sell you a bike and after that you can go to hell, customer service not interested, really poor show from Triumph. Best of luck.....
Next! a Honda for me please !!!

Trouble is...our Honda Dealer is a busy place...with a similiar attitude
I've had a Guzzi & now a Aprilia Caponord & done DIY servicing...
...so far,no real dramas...& I havent been stranded yet.(fingers crossed)
I was looking at a Tiger...but I think now,further research is needed...
