Tiger 1050 speedometer

Have any of the 2007 Tiger 1050 owners had any trouble with your speedometers malfunctioning?

My 2007 Tiger 955i (06 model) has the speedo driven electronically from the gearbox, I presume this is the same on the 1050!

I had a problem with it last ride and have no reference material to look at.

Is there anything in the 1050 owners manual for circuits or fuses etc?

I am at a loss as to where to look should there be any further electrical problems while out on the road.

It appears that I have a between models orphan with no information available!

Can any one give me any help here? Cheers John.

I thought the 06 was the same as the previous model and had the speedo driven from the front wheel. But then I could be wrong......

Definitely nothing off the front wheel, this model comes off the gearbox electronically!

The owners hand book with the bike relates to earlier model Tigers, this one is between models it seems, a bastard model maybe but it's a fantastic bike!

I assume that the 1050 speedo take off is the same, hence my question to 1050 Tiger owners rather than older 955i owners. Cheers John

PS: the reason I am asking is, the speedo just stopped working for five minutes and then bounced back on again with no apparent cause!
I don't like unexplained intermittent electrical problems when I am away riding in remote places! I want it sorted!

Totally embarrassed!

After finding no information and getting tired of my salesman's insistence that the speedo comes from the gearbox and all you guys saying it comes off the front wheel I went out to my garage got all the lights on and had a bloody good look.

Whallah, there it is, slightly different to what I have ever been used to but definitely a wire off the front hub, very well concealed but looks like it to me.

I have yet to take the wheels off this machine but it wont be long the back tyre is getting down a bit.

Maybe I am getting a bit long in the tooth or maybe even alzheimers setting in or something! Thanks for your help anyway. Cheers (embarrassed) John.
