On our breakfast run this morning, the guys riding behind me saw a cloud of brown smoke coming from my exhaust on two separate occasions. Everything seems to be all right except for a slight coloration on the exhaust tip(looks like heat) and some carbon build-up on a little hole at the bottom of the exhaust we suspect is for ventilation purposes. The engine runs perfectly, no vibrations or power losses. We tried to get the bike to do it again under hard acceleration but to no avail. Is this anything to be worried about or is it normal. Maybe the exhaust is starting to disintegrate from th inside.

I think you are seeing the beginnings of a burned out silencer...there should be no "little hole" where you have a hole burned through in your pic. I have seen evidence of a small leak around the front end seam where it is riveted on the outer body, but I have no hole yet...I only have 1100 miles on mine thus far. We have had 20 straight days of rain, so I haven't been riding too much.

May be a good reason and time to look at all the after-market options for silencers. Wonder what the T dealer would say about trying to get T to warranty this item?

Ok we await a decision from triumph uk. Looks like I'm getting a new pipe.

What is also interesting is that while the bike is running theirs air blowing out the hole but as you rev the bike its getting less.

Are you sure the hole is not supposed to be there? Lots of cans have drain holes and the angle on the tiger's can could easily allow a build up of condensation on short runs.

There is a drain hole there - you can see it in his pics. It's a small hole directly above the rivet. The burnt hole in the band beside the rivet is not supposed to be there at all. The major discoloration at his silencer tip should not be there either.

I hope you get a new silencer as that looks like a good warranty claim to me. My 1050 Tiger has somewhere over 4600 miles and the silencer is fine. Good luck.
