I was very surprised when my rear brake pads on my 2005 Tiger wore out at 7700 miles. Is this a normal distance for longevity of rear pads?

Its kind of a, how longs a piece of string thing !! some riders never use the rear brake and some, like me use it a lot. if you dont use it much, i would check the rear caliper and see if the pistons are sticking.

Vicious,

Same happened to me - my rear pads were worn out (less than 1mm of pad material left) at 7000 miles but my fronts are virtually as new.

I'm not a heavy braker but I obviously use the rear on this bike a lot more than I would on other bikes.

Mine were nearly down to the metal with only 5400 miles the guy at Triumph say's it's prety normal if you use it alot and carry pillions and or heavy luggage I do, I find I need to use it more as I'm big and carry my Son and full camping gear at w/ends.
