I am installing Starcom1 to my Tiger.

I have encountered following problems:

- when I plug my phone using phone cable, it works perfectly until I plug phone to the charger. After that the sound is very bad with lots of interference.

- when I plug radar detector sound volume is too low , even if the detector is set to max. volume. Additionally it clicks inside helmet speakers very hard before any radar alarm is played

Any ideas where the problem might be ? :???:

I don't have the advance with it's volume control

I have phone, GPS, MP3, DAB and bike to bike

the noise on the phone is caused by a ground loop

this is because the phone and the starcom are powered from the bike but have slight variations in frequency. leads can be purchased to isolate this, but expensive. I only charge my phone and bike to bike radio when stopped.

It is very difficult to get the right balance between volumes.

the people at Starcom are very good try Email or phone.

Thanks for advice , I will send them email.
I was able to resolve problems with clicking sound from my Radar detector. I was also able to lower interference caused by phone charger by replacing the charger with RohS compliant one

Now It is more or less usable, still not perfect, but works fine.

Looks like I have no other option that ordering shielded audio cable ... ***** expensive for a simple cable
