I have no idea how they got bent, but my front rotors seem to have a slight wobble in them that causes the front end to bounce a bit when I feather the front brake. I can't visually see anything wrong with them, but I am not sure what else it could be.

I am the second owner of the bike, but it is otherwise in perfect
health.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what may have caused the rotors to bend?

Anyone know where I can find some 2006 front rotors online in the US.

Thanks in adance!

Sounds like it may be a warped disc - it does happen, like it did to mine with just 8000miles on it. Search thro' the threads here - you will find plenty on the subject.

Best of luck.

I bought my '06 used w/2500 miles on it. The front rotors were warped and were replaced under warranty with no hassles. Thing is, at 4500 miles, they seem to be warped again, with no hard use . . . . anybody else have to have this warranty fix more than once?

Glade to hear they took care of the problem. I just dropped mine off at the dealer. I miss her already!

Thanks for the info!

As discussed in other threads: yes, and it is a bigger problem than Triumph wants to publicly admit. A second replacement would indicate that either the disk material is generally faulty or some wheels are faulty. Either way, Triumph is just replacing parts and not jumping at the chance to make things right.

Yes I can feel this coming on on my (07) 06 955i Tiger too!

I am not a heavy braker normally so they have not been over worked but is getting progressively worse and I was going to enquire at a dealer's but just thought I would have a wee look here first.

The front brakes are binding a bit too which will not help fuel consumption.

I am finding this to be a very good forum! Cheers John.

Boys, before you go paying huge amounts of money for new rotors, check out this Warped Brake Myth story.

It's a long read, but shuddering brakes are caused by much more than just warpage.

Interesting no?

Mick

OK, this could be the cause of a "warped" disk. No one ever said nuthin' to me, a certified non-racer, about this break-in procedure so I am a little suspicious about the necessity. If riding along a two lane road for miles on end with occassional braking is going to leave deposits of cementite then the technology could use some tweaking.

I did ask if Triumph would replace the pads along with the disks but those are considered consummables and therefore not under warranty.

I also understood that a warped disk would give some feel through the lever and a thickness problem would not. My experience is the latter. Seems like there are multiple explanations for the problem but I still don't know that this is the answer. Good to read, though. Thanks

Excellent link Mick, many thanks. I once had a Triumph Stag that I fitted new front discs to and they vibrated like mad even though a clock gauge showed absolutely no run out. Replacements cured it, and the supplier reckoned the fault might have been due to inclusions or variable material consistency.
