Hi all,
haven't had my 06 tiger long and had a question about my fuel gauge. when i picked the bike up, the dealer had put some fuel in so i ran it about 15 miles into the red before filling. I started filling and could only get 17.24 litres back in. now this means the red/reserve part of my gauge was holding just over 7 litres. Thats one hell of a reserve! is that the norm or do you think i have a dodgy fuel sender?

thanks for any thoughts! :???:

No, yes, you are correct if you know what i mean.

The red light on my Tiggy comes on, I fill it up and I can only get between 16 and 18 litres in. I have know learnt to ignore the fuel gauge and set the trip every time I fill up, start looking for a petrol pump when I have done 240 miles or there about.

Likewise, the light comes on around 180 miles on a good day and only lets me put in 18 litres at that point. That gives me a theoretical 240 miles, but I haven't tested it beyond 225 in case the last little bit can't get out.

Hi guys, I am really interested in how many miiles you actually can get out of a single tank.

I have learnt to ignore the red line on that fuel gauage as that runs through the red and out the other side a long time before the warning light comes on.

My warning light comes on at around 180 miles and I took it up to 220 before filling up but did not have the balls to run it to 240 or even more.

Is 240 to 250 miles to a tank reasonable if ridden sensibly ?

well I ride around 300~320 km until fuel light is on.
Then I am able to fill 18~19 liters.
that would be 187 ~ 200 miles. (1.6 km = 1 mile?)
I am using off road tune. I am planning to change the tune to standard and make the same test

I usually ride around speed limits, using accell only for overtaking.
Well sometimes I like to rev. to 9500 rpm as there is nice pull between 7000~9500

Trunkie,

On a run I can get 250miles per tank...just (only have 1 or 2 litres left in tank), but around town riding it drops to a max of 200miles (as I found out recently when my fuel gauge jammed and I thought I still had another 50 miles to fill up!)

Steve.

272.3 miles per tank. 1 mile pushing. The station at 260 mile point had a crashed computer and could not serve me.
Only 6.1 Gallons (US) to fill, not 6.4 G like the specs say.
