Does anyone know if the Triumph Mobil Racing 4T is the same as Mobil 1 MX4T?

If not what is the difference...other than the label and the cost.

Yes, I have been to that site and it really doesn't give the information I was looking for in my post.

MX4T seems to meet all the requirements for Triumph motor oil. I imagine it is the same exact oil in a different bottle...just looking for confirmation or contradiction.

I would say that the MX4T is just a newer version of the old 4T.

that is a great site, this was very interesting,it has come up a lot on this forum.

One of the myths surrounding synthetic oils is that new engines require a break-in period with conventional oil. The fact is, current engine manufacturing technology does not require this break-in period. As indicated by the decisions of the engineers who design the high-performance bikes listed above, Mobil 1 can be used starting the day you drive the bike off the showroom floor.

Myth: You should break in your engine with conventional oil, then switch to a synthetic oil like Mobil 1.
Reality:
You can start using Mobil 1? in new vehicles at any time, even in brand new vehicles. In fact, Mobil 1 is original equipment (it is installed at the factory) in:
triumph

from what i can gather on this site the oil you mention, will be perfect for your tiger.it looks like thay have just changed the name, and maybe dropped the vicosity slightly.

MX4T is a 10w40 and the old mobil 1 oil that triumph recomend in there handbook is 15w40.
there is no refeence to mobil racing 4T so i would say its the same stuff, ring mobil if your not sure,or ring triumph they are very helpfull (i have rung a few times)

I don`t know how hot it gets in Kansas City so i can only say that this oil will be thiner than a 15w oil. you can always put another make of synth/oil in your bike as long as it meets the oil spec required.
