I ordered EBC HH brake pads from kneedraggers.com at $26 for a set. I ordered two front sets and one rear set. The front came as ordered; however the rear set that I received were not the correct size or composition. When I called the source, I was told that the VIN mattered.

It was very difficult to get resolution of this issue when I called Kneedraggers; however, after multiple attempts, I spoke with a fella that was able to offer to send me the correct pads and a UPS "call tag."
If you decide to use this source, you should first determine if front and rear pads on your bike are the same and order three sets of the same.

In any case, I could have ordered three sets of the same type as the front and rear pads are the same on my Tiger.
I ordered front and rear though I only needed the rear for now. They fit a treat and will test this weekend.

I looked in the EBC catalogue, available online, and found that the FA196 is listed for spoke wheel Tigers (front and rear) but the FA215/2 is needed for the rear of cast wheel Tigers. (These are for organic pads- add HH sufffix for sinterred pads).

I've got a 2005- I'll bet you got the pads meant for the later bike.

Kneedraggers sent the correct rear pads and I received them today. They are the same as the front.
Their customer service gets a B grade as I had difficulty with the phone service; however, all is well now.
I fitted a set of the original shipment on the rear and rode 600+ miles this past weekend. I used a lot of rear brake to help the new pads bed in. No complaints.

Interesting...I tried to order a set of rear pads direct from EBC today and I'm glad the transaction failed when I could not remember my credit card password. Why? Well, they list the rear set the same as the RH front which rang an alarm bell with me.

Went out to check on the bike and sure enough I have two NISSIN callipers up front and an original type Triumph calliper at the rear. The pads are not interchangeable.

As it happens, I had a left-over set of FA215 from my Steamer* and even though I have not removed them from the packet, it's looking likely they will fit the rear calliper of the 06 Tiger. I will try this and confirm.

Jon

*Steamer rear pads are the same as the front on one siode (right, I think)

Be careful here!
The rear pads should be FA215/2. These are a different thickness to the FA215 (front pads) TF.

Thanks Tigerfeet. The set of pads I have were bought for my Steamer and the supplier said they were the same set as the front! I have since ordered the correct /2 rear pads (non sintered) and L & R front pads (sintered).

Why are the pads thicker for the rear brake - anyone know?

Jon
