Hi all,
Been testing out afew gadgets recently on the Tiger and need a little help with a power feed behind the dash which is live when the ignition is on.

The gadget's I've been playing with are a Intaride RP1 intercom and Garmin i3 GPS. So far all the wires and boxes have been dumped in my baglux tankbag, but now i want to fit it all to the dash.

I found a spot behind the fairing for the Intaride intercom (wedged between bike loom and top fairing mountings). Just got to route the cables under tank to the seat.

Garmin i3 has beed modified to include a 2.5mm headphone jack. easy mod anyone with a soldering iron can do. I need to get a mount to mount the i3 above the clocks. Plenty room just need a nice little bracket made up.

Once all fitted I'll add mobile phone and PMR bike to bike.

I'll keep you all posted on things go and hope to get some photos too.

Just need the help in finding the feed for the intercom.

Cheers all

Paul

Just a thought but if you can find space under the seat for the intercom you won't have to run the cables under the tank....

My Autocom lives there, powered off the tail light feed. Means I have to atleast have my sidelights on for the Autocom to work, but I can livw with that

Thanx Foxee for the suggestion. Space under the seat is already limited on my 2004 955 as I have a wee pro oiler taking up what little available space I have.

The dash is the best location for me as I need to keep the lead to the PMR radio as short as possible to keep down interference.

The Intaride seems to be a better system than my old Autocom which I was never happy with from day one. A day didn't go by with me fiddling with it trying to get the VOX to work correctly and the sound to be hearable at speeds over 70Mph. Worth mentioning that this was one of the early Autocom units and I would hope that have got a lot better sice then.

If anyone is considering a GPS and can't run to the expense of a Quest or TT rider, I highly recomend a trip mto Halfords to pick up the i3 at £129. The i3 came out well best buy against all the dearer competitors in the this mothd Which? magazine and that was at £170!!!

Halfords recently did the Quest at £150 - which lead to a few days trying to track down anywhere with any stock left!
