One quick question. I have just bought a mudguard extension for the front of my 2000 885i Tiger. It came with 4 plastic rivets to attach to existing mudguard. Do I use these rivets as I would use normal metal ones? Are they strong enough?
Anyone used them before? Quick response required as I was going to fit them later today, as salt spray is eating my bike.
Cheers

I felt they were a bit feeble and backed them up with silicon. They also seemed very near the tyre so I chopped off the folded over bit on the inside.

I fitted the mudguard extension three years ago using the supplied plastic rivets and no other fixing. It's still on there, and still not loose.

Ditto.
I would recommend drilling the hole 0.5mm smaller than recommended. Makes for a tighter fit.

Mine hasn't budged in over 20k miles and has only had 3 of the supplied plastic rivets (one got mashed) since day one.
