I expect this question has been asked before but here I go again: Tiger comes with power socket fitted as standard equipment, yes?
My new Triumph comes without the power socket, but there is provision for one in the form of a blanking plug on the left side of the bike.
I have plenty of the male din type plugs for my chargers etc, but I need to buy the female socket only, the one with the weatherproof flap, does anyone know where I can purchase one other than the Triumph dealer?
TF.

the plug and socket is actualy called a hella socket, they are made by the same people who make the large spotlamps on rally cars.

i got a brand new socket and plug from guy on e-bay selling them for boats,it is a lot better than the triumph one as its totally watertight.

you need a boat yard or ships chanderlers or a caravan shop, mine cost £1.99 complete,a bit better than the £25.00 triumph charge,if i can find a link to one i will paste it on here for you.

I have used Farnell to get this type of plug and socket before.

They also sell the type of plugs wich can fit both this type of socket and cigar lighter style sockets, with the addition of a (supplied) adaptor ring.

Although, if you want to have stuff plugged in whilst riding, I would recommend using the smaller type of plug since I find my knee can knock out the longer plugs!

Sockets

You might be able to get them more cheaply from other sources (and I think Farnell have a minimum order value too), but I have always found them most reliable.

HTH.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, if you do use the smaller plugs, you'll need to be handy with a soldering iron because there are no screw-terminals in them!
