I recently took the tank off my 2004 tiger, carefully noting where everything went (leads/pipes etc) or so I thought. Come to put the tank back on and I noticed that on the left hand side of the tank just above and to the right of the petrol in/out pipes there is what appears to be a vacuum switch/outlet. I can only describe this thing as being about4/5 cms in diameter made of brass with a pipe connectio. Any ideas. Bike runs o.k, just need to know what it does.

Thanks

Bob

That's your fuel pressure regulator. Not to worry, you didn't forget anything. On some older models there was a tube that attatched to the connector you describe but that has been done away with on newer models. My '03 is the same way.

Thanks for the reply. It's been driving me around the bend trying to find a pipe or something that would have fitted on the outlet. I can now sleep in peace.

Thanks

No problem. You will find many "spare items" on these bikes that will give you similar grief. The first time I pulled the airbox there was a spare electrical connector tucked under one of the coil wires. I later learned that Triumph use the same wiring looms on various models and certain connectors only apply to certain bikes.

Dam, thats good to know, cause I am about to remove my tank to put in a K&N air filter. I might have freaked out if I saw extra wires and fittings. Hey, by the by, anyone know if I have to have the engine remaped if I put in K&N filter? :???:
