Hi Folks, a question , my `05 955i Tiger appears to have a oil seepage from the right side of the engine , it appears to be coming from that plated screw slug ( for want of a better term ) behind the headers, just above the sump...anyone had similar ?..ok its under warranty but was wondering if its any problem unscrewing it and applying some sealant...plus would any oil pee out upon its removal ( looks a possibility )...if so its a dealer job..

many thanks for any tips..
Alan :-D

if its under warranty let the dealer sort it out. That way if there is a problem then they can sort it out.

you may well be able to remove the plug but what if the threads have been damaged causing the problem, then you are stuffed. We all do little bits ourselves rather than run to the dealer but personally anything that is engine related I would rather they sort out, just in case

Hi Djr.. glad to report that the source of the leak is sorted, it indeed was that plug, it was not fully tightened according to the dealer, yes I was contemplating doin it myself but why bother, 2 year warranty an all that, and would as you say been well stuffed if the thread gave up in the ally....thanks again all for your advice...appreciated

Regards
