hi all,

just checking out, if somebody might have an idea and more info about a problem i experienced. having a 'tr6 engine, dating back to the 70.

i got a rubber between the chain and the spocket while riding with around 60km/h. obviously, the back weel just blocked and i got eventually to a halt. since then, huge oil leak. i could not really detect it so far, but looks like its from the shaft coming, the chain, the sprocket are full with oil.

question, does anybody know if it is possible to crank a shaft or crack a seal and how i get access to the front sprocket? somehow it seems like its impossible to get access to the front spocket easy.

any help very appreciated!!!

matt

Hi Matt, I guess we're talking about a Meriden triple here. To get to the front sprocket with these you need to remove the whole of the primary drive (clutch etc) as the sprocket sits behind this. Although you would probably be better off posting the query here
as they specialise in Meriden triples. My own experience with them is limited - I'm really a Norton man myself!

Best of luck anyway
