My Tiger 955i is suddenly suffering from rough running at low revs / coasting.

Has anyone else had these probs, if so, how did you remedy it?

I've heard of something called Tuneboy. Is it something I should dabble with, or leave it to a service center?

If your bike has suddenly gone from running fine to running rough then you need to find the problem and solve that BEFORE you start playing around with tweaks.

From your original post it seems everything was fine until very recently, but as has been mentioned you dont give us much to go on.

OK, here goes: -

It's a 2003 model, (orange), about 6000 miles.

It originally had an Engine Management problem which put it into safe mode. Had it checked at a local bike mechanic (he has the software and a Triumph licence) who pin pointed it to the O2 sensor. The problem was probably caused by incorrect fitting of a Scott Oiler. The sensor was renewed, and the Scott Oiler disconnected, and it ran fine for a few weeks.

Now I have the rough running prob. Ho hum.

Also ment to ask if you have had the bike for a while or are new to it ?? if you are new to it, these bikes need to be started and stoped by the book or the ECU can get messed up. if you are going by the book it may just by a bad O2 sensor again.

keep us posted !!

Incorrect Scottoiler fitting should not affect the O2 sensor unless it was accidentially disconnected/inplugged. The vacuum takeoff for the oiler could affect tuning if it leaked, but this won't affect the O2 sensor either.

If you have gone to limp home mode, then it is electrical gremlins (rather than poor fuel or such). The first step would be to reinstall the standard tune and see if this cures the problem.
The ECU should not loose it's memory, but can under some circumstances. The likely culprit is the starting procedure and use of the killswitch. Also if the battery is disconected, this apparently can cause loss of ECU memory. I think this is due to sparks or power spikes upsetting the bike's brain. Have you disconnected the battery or jumpstarted the bike?

Hi Spudgun.

Nice to see another Scottish entry. Welcome. Getting to be a fair collection of members from here from the Central belt.

I tend to agree with Timtiger on the Scottoiler & electric gremlins.

It could be that you have had another o2 sensor break down. They don't appear to be that reliable. A lot of the guys on here, myself included, have fitted o2 sensor eliminators (do a search on the forum & you will dig up the info) it might not solve your problem but it would take one potential problem out of the equation. & for £18 it is relatively cheap.

Hi Spudgun.
Do you know exactly what the coil problem was. Coil failure, got wet, fractured insulation?????
