How do you do it?

Getting the fork top nut back on against the suspension spring pressure without cross-threading it?
There has to be an easier way than leaning hard against a rachet socket drive. I seem to recall reading a post somewhere that gave an easy and elegant solution to this problem, but I'll be damned if I can find it now...

I don't know how elegant it is, but I just slowly turn it backwards (anti-clockwise) while applying pressure until I feel the little "click" of the leading edges of the threads coming together. Then I slowly reverse direction and thread it in. It's worked well, even with my longer spacers that really push back!

+1 about the ( anti-clockwise till it clicks ) the last time i had mine off i had the Tigger on the centre stand and hung a bucket off the rear rack and started filling it with stuff untill it would sit with the front wheel off the ground, no load on the springs, so it went on without to much pressure and i`ve got spacers in mine !!

have fun !!
